PlayStation 2 FIFA tournament FUNdraiser

Sunday Dec 28 from 1pm until finished
$20 entry fee - BBQ lunch provided - BYOB

• 1st place - $30 / 2nd - $20 / 3rd (consolation #1) $15 / 4th (consolation #2) $10

• $10 to the player who shows the best "kit" and or fan support (jerseys/scarves/dyed hair/tattoos?) for their Club that they are PLAYING in the tourney. So top winner 'could' win as much as $40!

• Random draw will be done for the brackets once we have the 32 signed up

• 2 brackets of 16 - 1st round losers go to consolation bracket (8 each side). Min of 2 games assured

• 3 min 1st round games - ties go straight to PKs

• 4 min 2nd round games - ties go straight to PKs

• 5 min 3rd round games - ties go straight to PKs

• 6 min 4th round games - ties go to golden goal

• 10 min Finals - tie goes to golden goal - Both Finals to be played on the 37" flat screen in surround sound!

• First PAID first choice of team. Team can be ANY team supported by FIFA (multiple years will be used, starting with '05 so think it thru!) be it Club or National. There are NO dupes. I suggest PAYPAL since it will have a time stamp on when the payment was processed.

• If you can donate for the day a PS2/TV and a copy of FIFA that would help out a great deal. The more systems we have going the faster we can run thru the brackets

This is meant to be a fun way to spend a few hours with your teammates and help out the Club with some funds. ANYONE is invited, so bring a friend! Solid lunch and whatever 'choice' of beverage you choose (ZERO underage drinking!)

Practice
Sign Up

You must attend a practice or scrimmage in the month of May in order to be considered for the Cup. No more flakes and last minute 'jumpers'. Final team will be picked after the scrimmage Thursday June 5th. Money is also due at that time. You MUST be paid in full PRIOR to managers meeting/player reg Friday at 7pm. Don't wait and get bumped as their is already a waiting list. Send the $30 via PayPal right now to davem@newagedesigns.com. Finally no player with an outstanding FCI balance can play until ALL balances are paid in full. All that is required is white socks the Club will provide the rest of the uniform on the day.

Additional players who have attended to date and still in consideration:

Archive Tourney pages / results / pictures - plus any past due amounts owed which need to be paid before you join us again

2 games Saturday  you can lose first but win 2nd and move to consolation.
if you move on to either bracket you will have as many as 3 games on Sunday to win the money

-on Sunday its win and move or lose and go home.

-30min halves, bring 22 players and unlimited subs

-first place in winners bracket $3000, 2nd $2000, 3rd $1000

- consolation bracket 1st $1500, 2nd $1000, 3rd $750

I-80 West to Vacaville.  Exit I-80 West at Monte Vista Ave Exit.  After exiting freeway, stay in left lane until stoplight at Monte Vista-Browns Valley Parkway.  Continue straight on Browns Valley Parkway approx 1 mile to stoplight.  Turn right onto Allison Rd. This is the entrance to Centennial Park.  Continue on Allison to rear of Centennial Park. Horse Creek Soccer Complex is at the northern edge of Centennial Park.

Why: Fund raiser for the FCI Club for the 2007-08 season
When: Sunday September 23^rd 2007 – 9am to 4pm
Where: Orangevale, CA – hosted on 2 fields – both 120x80 grass. 15 mins from Southside.
Who: 2 brackets of 4 teams each. First 8 teams paid by September 16^th are in. Open to all Premier and 1^st division CCSL teams**
How much: $125.00 per team – 1^st place will get a prize (less than $3 per player per game, less if you advance to play offs)

Format:
Round robin based on points (3 win / 1 tie - GD to break ties for semis advancement)
Top 2 teams from each bracket advance to semis and play the other bracket
28 min halves - 1 hour games with 2 mins at half to grab water and switch sides
Finals full game - based upon time left in the day and or condition of players!
Award for finals

Additionally:
INEXPENSIVE Food, drinks and BBQ (11-1 only with carnitas & hot dogs ) at the tourney, no need to load up - we will have it all for you on ice - or hot for lunch!.
Beer is allowed NO GLASS of ANY KIND!

** FCI #2 will include “Normads” Pick-up players. So players not with a current team can pickup some game play and maybe get scouted for a CCSL team. Each player would be responsible for playing their fees individually ($10). Uniforms will be provided for this team.

3rd Place finish

We lost in the 2nd overtime to El Salvador in the Semis. We have met them 2 of the last 3 times for a title and came out on top, just a bit short this time around. El Salvador went on to destroy AC Turn Verein in the final.

So we try again next year!

Side note: The OLD MAN took home the Silver Cup in the Over 40s anchoring the D that went 5-0 and 6-0 on Sunday  :)

After the Gold Cup  - FC Ireland will host our 2nd Annual Alumni game in June. Fun game on a close by field then BBQ and 'DRINKS' open to all full paid Club members and invited alumni

ALL and I mean ALL players and sponsors who have EVER worn the green since 1994 (indoor/outdoor/tourneys/Santa Cruz/Holland/ISP) are invited to join the Club for a game. We are now starting a tradition that the last weekend in June will be this event!
We divide up sides - play a game(s) on a BRAND new pitch - depending upon numbers it maybe (2) 45 min games or so….
Come back and enjoy the day in the shade with the BBQ going and the beer keg tap flowing and tell lies about the good ol days  :)
