CLUB HERITAGE
FC Ireland was founded in 1994, after watching the US Men's team play Brazil in the Cup. Originally as the Leprechauns and some ‘old’ players from Cosumnes River College at Off the Wall during the summer of that year in the ‘Comp’ league. Our first major success was a second place finish to the Sacramento Knights (full team) in that year’s Christmas tourney. Founder and Manger David McCreary maintains it’s competitive edge through teamwork, fair play and a life long passion for the game. After 3 seasons in the CCSL 1st Division the Club has been promoted to the highest level of amateur soccer in the Central Valley of California, in a continuing quest to strive for the best soccer possible. More tournaments await in the near future at the next level.

Defender Paolo Maldini, seen here on January 27, has now played ...
1000 games! - My all time favorite international player - sorry Brad Friedel! I am ONLY 4 years older than he is!

Defender Paolo Maldini, seen here on January 27, has now played 861 club matches for AC Milan, earned a record 126 Italy caps, made one appearance for the Italian Olympic team and played 12 matches in the Italian under-21 team. Incredibly, of those 1,000 games, he started 981 of them and completed 916 from start to finish.

During Maldini's incredible career he won the Serie A title seven times, the Champions League five times, the Italian Cup once, the Club World Cup and its predecessor the Intercontinental Cup three times, five European Super Cups and five Italian Super Cups.

Sad to see ya go Robbie - at least you have got the captains armband

That says it all really doesnt it!   :)
